Medicine Show premiered in June 2003 at the Stonestreet Museum of 19th medicine in Rockville, MD. This museum, a branch of the Montgomery County Historical Society, is housed in Dr Stonestreet's original office, where he practiced from 1850 to 1900. Medicine Show is a unique hybrid of medical facts and whimsy. The story is told by a "cranky" — a moving paper scroll — with puppetry, dance, theater, and original music on handmade instruments, created and performed by Marianne Ross and Ric Wagner, co-directors of Concerts in the Country.
